Prepare Your Child For Life
Every month in the United States, three million children miss school due to fear of bullies. In the Gracie Bullyproof program, our goal is to instill your child with unshakable confidence so they can overcome bullies without violence. Due to the non-violent nature of the techniques, CNN, ABC, NBC, and Oprah have featured the Gracie Bullyproof program as one of the few effective counter-measures to bullying for children.

How is Gracie Bullyproof® different from other Kids Self-Defense programs?
Fighting Fire with Water
While many martial arts programs focus on aggressive strikes like punches, kicks, knees, and elbows, Gracie Bullyproof takes a unique approach. Our techniques are entirely defensive, with no strikes involved. We emphasize verbal de-escalation to prevent physical confrontation and equip children with non-violent methods to neutralize threats and maintain control until help arrives. With Gracie Bullyproof, we teach children to respond with non-aggression, so you never have to worry about them becoming bullies themselves.

Our Threefold Strategy
Increased Awareness: Harassment comes in many forms. Sometimes, a victim doesn’t take a stand because they can’t differentiate between “joking” and “bullying.” We teach your child to differentiate between harmless play and harmful harassment so they know precisely when and how to act in each circumstance.Unshakable Confidence: Confidence is the key to being Bullyproof. Bullies often target those who appear vulnerable and tolerant of their abuse. We provide your child with the essential tools to overcome physical, verbal, and psychological harassment, fostering such self-assuredness that bullies won't even attempt to harass them.Total Responsibility: We equip your child to handle bullies while ensuring they don't become one themselves. Our program emphasizes discipline, responsibility, and respect throughout, and we instill five "Rules of Engagement" to ensure they never misuse their newfound skills.
Rules of Engagement
In Gracie Bullyproof, we believe that teaching a child jiu-jitsu without instructing them on when to use it is like handing someone a gun without proper training. Our program uniquely educates children on precisely when they can and cannot apply the techniques they learn. The five "Rules of Engagement" are consistently practiced in class, ensuring that children not only avoid misusing their skills but also feel confident in standing up against bullies when necessary.
Rule 1: Avoid the fight at all costs.Rule 2: If physically attacked, defend yourself.Rule 3: If verbally attacked, follow the Three T-steps (talk, tell, tackle).Rule 4: Never punch or kick the bully, establish control and negotiate.Rule 5: When applying submissions use minimal force and negotiate.

Verbal Jiu-Jitsu Training
Gracie Bullyproof stands out by incorporating Verbal Assertiveness Training, or "Verbal Jiu-Jitsu," into its regular curriculum, addressing the pervasive issue of verbal harassment. Our program includes role-playing exercises designed to teach children how to recognize and handle common threats related to verbal harassment and relational bullying. We empower Gracie Bullyproof students to distinguish between bullying and joking, equipping them with assertive communication skills. Moreover, we educate them on using direct eye contact and confident posture as tools to discourage bullies from targeting them.

Character Development
Our instructors leverage their role to nurture your child’s character for success. The Gracie Character Development Program encompasses six key traits: Responsibility, Health, Respect, Citizenship, Manners, and Caring.
